TAMAN — The Garden

There are places you visit for dinner. Places you go for a drink. And then there are places where you simply want to stay. TAMAN was created to be the latter.

Now open in Pecatu, in the heart of Uluwatu, TAMAN is our idea of a neighbourhood cocktail bar and restaurant: warm, relaxed and social by nature, but intentional in every detail. A garden where food, cocktails, music and people come together — and where an early drink can easily turn into dinner, another round, and a much later night than expected.

A garden made for staying

TAMAN means garden. And the garden is at the heart of everything we wanted this place to be. Warm light. Natural textures. Tropical vegetation. Terracotta walls. Dark wood. Music in the background. Tables made for sharing and a bar that naturally becomes the centre of the evening.

Nothing too formal. Nothing too complicated. Just a place that feels good to walk into — and even better to stay in.

Uluwatu has its own rhythm, and TAMAN was designed around it. Come after the beach. Come for dinner. Meet someone for a cocktail. Stay for the music. There is no single way to experience the garden.

Drink different.

At the centre of TAMAN is the bar. Our drinks start with familiar ideas and take them somewhere unexpected. Signature cocktails, surprising ingredients and classics with our twist.

Behind every drink is a team that cares deeply about balance, ingredients, technique and presentation — without ever making the experience feel complicated. Because a great cocktail can be sophisticated without taking itself too seriously.

Some are bright and tropical. Some are fresh. Some are deeper and made for later in the evening. And sometimes, a classic is exactly what you need.

The idea is simple: drink different.

Food worth sharing.

TAMAN isn’t a cocktail bar where food comes second. The kitchen is part of the same story. Our menu is built around small plates, bold flavours and food made for sharing.

Plates arrive as the night unfolds.

Plates arrive at the table as the night unfolds. Order a few. Add another. Pass them around. Try something from someone else’s plate. That is how we like to eat.

From fresh, vibrant dishes to richer flavours, grilled ingredients and sweet endings, the menu is designed to work alongside the drinks rather than compete with them.

No unnecessary formality. Just good food, a table full of plates and the people you want to share them with.

Super prepared. Super human.

A place is ultimately defined by its people. Behind the bar and inside the kitchen, the TAMAN team trains, tastes, experiments and obsesses over details. But when you sit down, none of that should feel complicated. It should feel effortless.

A good recommendation when you don’t know what to order. A conversation across the bar. The right drink at the right moment. A plate arriving when everyone is ready for another bite.

We take what we do seriously. We just don’t think hospitality needs to feel serious.

Good drinks start with good people. And so do good nights.

From sunset to late.

Uluwatu changes when the sun goes down. The heat softens. The lights come on. Music gets a little louder. Another table arrives. Someone orders the next round.

TAMAN was created for that transition. From the first drink of the evening to dinner in the garden and the nights that continue around the bar, the atmosphere evolves naturally. Food, cocktails and music are not separate parts of the experience. They are the experience.

Some nights are quiet. Some become something else entirely. That’s part of the idea.

This is just the beginning.

Opening TAMAN is the beginning of a story we want to tell from inside the garden — but also beyond it. That is why we’re launching The Garden Magazine.

A place for stories about the drinks we make, the food we share, the people behind the bar and the music that fills the garden. But also a place to talk about Uluwatu, Bali and the people, ingredients, places and ideas that inspire us.

Not a news section. Not a traditional restaurant blog. Just stories worth sharing. Much like everything else at TAMAN.

Come find us.
